ornithology, continued

There are some amazing birds around tin box. We're not sure what this creature is. It looks like a cross between a chicken and a vulture. We have no shortage of vultures here. And, apparently, we have chickens, too...






This bird was visiting the site early this week. We're not sure where it came from, but chickens can be kept legally in South Miami. The same is not true of roosters, which are too loud for the good citizens of South Miami.
Although, honestly, how much louder can roosters be than the peacocks and peahens that have made their home in our neighborhood? And the macaws and parrots that appear from time to time are pretty vocal, too, though not at dawn. Frankly, we'd be happy with all manner of birds around the house, except for ostriches, perhaps.
